Photos From The London Auto show
The 2016 London Motor Show runs last weekend at Battersea Park, bringing a new car show back to the British capital for the first time in almost a decade. Below are some images.....
MG GS
MG chose the London Motor Show to pull the covers off its British-spec GS crossover, ahead of sales starting in the summer. With contemporary looks and neat detailing, the smart new MG was very well received by the crowd gathered for its debut.
The new MG will go on sale in June 2016, with prices rumoured to be starting from just £15,000.
TVR
TVR made its first motor show appearance in a decade. This is a new 5.0-litre V8 Cosworth-tuned sports car.
Aston Martin V12 Vantage
Aston Martin is represented at the London Motor Show by its London dealer – and we were delighted to see the V12 Vantage on show, complete with recently-announced seven-speed manual gearbox.
Aston Martin Vantage GT8
The really exciting Aston at London is the new Vantage GT8, just announced at the opening World Endurance Championship sportscar race at Silverstone. It’s a thrilling-looking machine indeed and visitors are lucky to see it up close – they’re already sold out, says Aston…
Range Rover Evoque Convertible
Jaguar F-Pace
The new Jaguar F-Pace SUV is also being shown in London. It’s reportedly causing quite a stir in UK dealers and it attracted plenty of attention at the London Motor Show last weekend.
Bentley Bentayga
Ford Edge
The Ford’s new £30,000 SUV is an impressive machine and it’s sure attracted lots of attention from intrigued Land Rover Discovery Sport owners last weekend at Battersea.
Riversimple RASA
This is the Riversimple RASA, an ambitious new low-cost hydrogen fuel cell car designed and built in Wales. The owners are aiming to bring hydrogen fuel cell motoring to the (relative) masses with this car.
Tesla Model S
Londoners are very familiar with the Tesla Model S, but perhaps not one that looks like this: the just-facelifted version of the luxury EV, complete with new grill-less front end.
Vuhl 05
Mexican sports car company Vuhl is now finally on sale in the UK and to celebrate this, it’s bought the latest evolution of its 05 model to London. Racing car for the road indeed – it’s hard to believe this £60,000 car is road legal.
Ferrari 488 Spider
London dealer HR Owen has bought along a couple of exclusive supercars to Battersea. The latest Ferrari 488 Spider is an impressive-looking turbocharged evolution of the 458 Spider that looks suitably impactful in bright yellow.
Lamborghini Huracan Spyder
Even newer is the Spyder version of the Lamborghini Huracan, which is now fully on sale in right-hand drive form. This car is one of the first British models in the country.
MINI Convertible
The all-new MINI Convertible is at Battersea: again, this car is one of the first to hit British roads. The looks may be evolutionary but it’s a much-improved car under the skin.
Mitsuoka Viewt
Mitsuoka Viewt
This beautiful Jaguar Mk2 is on show at… hang on, that’s no Jaguar Mk2! Nope, it’s a Japanese car called a Mitsuoka Viewt, rather improbably based on a Nissan Micra.
McLaren 570GT
The new McLaren 570GT, a fastback version of the brilliant 570S, isn’t even on sale yet, but is on show at Battersea. The side-hinged tailgate is a brilliant feature you just have to check out up close – it’s the most practical McLaren yet.
Rolls-Royce Dawn
This is the Rolls-Royce Dawn, the Goodwood firm’s latest four-seat convertible aimed at ultra-luxury sun-seeking buyers. It’s much, much more than simply a drop-top Wraith.
BMW M4 Competition Package
How good does this BMW M4 look? It’s wearing the Competition Package kit, an option costing £3,000 and bringing better looks, recalibrated chassis and a power boost to 450hp. 8 in 10 UK M4 are now expected to be Competition Package cars.
Infiniti Q60
This beautiful new Infiniti is the Q60, the Japanese premium firm’s gorgeous new two-door alternative to a BMW 4 Series Coupe or Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe. It goes on sale this summer.
Caterham 620S
A rather extreme open-top British sports car is the new Caterham 620S – and this, believe it or not, is the slightly less extreme version of its hardcore 620R. We love the mint green colour and find the promise of 310hp from its supercharged engine rather fascinating…
Chevrolet Camaro
London dealer Clive Sutton is offering right-hand drive conversions of iconic American cars such as the Camaro muscle car seen here.
The World Car of the Year
The Mazda MX-5 is the current World Car of the Year and the awards organisers are exhibiting a specially-liveried version at the London Motor Show.
The European Car of the Year
Speaking of cars of the year… here’s the Vauxhall Astra, the current European Car of the Year.
Toyota Mirai
The Toyota Mirai is the World Green Car of the Year and Transport for London is at the Battersea Park show with its own hydrogen fuel cell Mirai.
Right-hand drive Eleanor
Back indoors, this delicious-looking Shelby Mustang GT500 Eleanor looks amazing – and look closely: yes, it really is a right-hand drive model, now on sale through London dealer Clive Sutton
It is really very helpful for us and I have gathered some important information from this blog.
