Takata Airbag Recall Reach About 10.7 Million Cars

Honda is recalling 4.5 million cars in the U.S. for defective Takata passenger-side frontal airbags, including 2700 motorcycles.

This new recall adds 2.2 million more Honda and Acura models for a total of more than 10.7 million cars. Out of the dozen automakers and 25 brands involved since the Takata recalls first broke in 2013, Honda has recalled the most cars, and all but one of the 11 deaths have involved a Honda vehicle.

Starting June 6, Honda says owners can search their VINs on its recall website to determine if their specific car or motorcycle is included. Parts will be limited and may not be available until late in the summer . If parts are not available, Honda will send owners a second recall notice when they arrive.
