Coscharis Motors Debuts MG GS and MG GT In Nigeria

British Auto Maker MG Motors, has announced the delivery of first set of two MG variants to Coscharis Motors Nigeria, the MG GS SUV and the MG GT sedan, in a bid to penetrate the Nigeria Automobile market.


“The arrival of the two MG variants is a proof of the company’s commitment to always set new standard in the history of automobile market in Nigeria, and with the hope to replicate this success by making the Morris Garages one of the preferred brands in the Nigeria market,” the firm said in a statement.

According to the auto company, the new MG GS and MG GT cars are expected to be the toast of all auto freaks in Nigeria because both models have been crafted with precision and pure refinement in the turbo-charged engines, interior and exterior designs.



It says while the MG GS targets the up and mobile young professionals that are charismatic as well as IT savvy and fashionable people that wish to show their distinctive personality, the MG GT is aimed at slightly more mature and sophisticated audience.


The GS SUV is powered by a 1.5-litre turbocharged GDI SAIC CUBE-TEC engine, producing 160 horsepower and 184 lb·ft of torque on a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission that comes in a front wheel drive or All-wheel drive set up,and it is reported to have a top speed of 200km/h.

The GT sedan is runs a TCI-Tech 1.8-litre engine producing 133 horsepower with a 5-speed manual transmission with the ability to accelerate to 100km/h in 8.4 seconds, reaching a top speed of 193 km/h.

The GS Interior
The statement quoted the General Manager, Marketing, Coscharis Motors, Abiona Babarinde, as saying, ‘’The two new MG variants are set to turn the tide in the mid-sedan and SUV segment in the market. Customers and prospects who enjoy pure driving dynamics will take advantage of the many engineering prowess and examplary features the models offer. It is equally significant to note that the MG GS is the first SUV of the MG brand that is definitely going to excite our customers in the Nigerian market as it’s going to compete favourably in the SUV segment.’’

The GT interior
The Brand Manager, MG, Mathew Aje, also said, “The MG GT and MG GS are a must drive for both retail and fleet customers alike, and trendy car lovers can take advantage of the Coscharis’ vehicle finance scheme, which offers customers the opportunity to own any MG car of choice with a certain percentage down payment to either Access Bank or Stanbic IBTC Bank, and spread the rest for over 48 months.”

He said that customers could also enjoy adequate after sales backup, genuine spare parts, test drive, free delivery to any part of Nigeria, with 2.5 per cent insurance offer and three years warranty or 100,000km.
