Race Car Unbelievably Flips Over A 22-Foot-Tall Catch Fence
For the first time ever at Perris Auto Speedway, a race car flipped up and over its catch fence. Austin Williams’ sprint car slid sideways into a bump that sent him spinning over 22 feet in the air. Miraculously, the driver was okay and able to get out of the car under his own power.
Williams was qualifying for the weekend’s USAC/CRA Sprint Car event. Fortunately, the catch fence slowed down the car somewhat before it landed upside down.
