Liverpool Fan Abandons His Car In Basel Since Europa League Final

According to Liverpool echo, a car belonging to a Liverpool fan has been left on a street in Basel, Switzerand since night of May 18 that saw Liverpool lose 3-1 to Sevilla in the Europa League Final.

Marco Ciello, who works in the Swiss city, said he saw two men in Liverpool shirts get out of the silver Vauxhall Astra on the day of the game but was amazed to discover that the car was still on the street called Freibrugerstrasse, more than two months after.

 “I saw a Liverpool fan parking the car on the way to work on the day of the final, near the border with Germany. Now after two months the car is still at the same place. He said.

“It was about 7.30am they got out of the car, two men wearing Liverpool shirts. I live in Weil am Rhein in Germany, and cross the border every day for work.

“I’m surprised - because if I were going to a football game, I would know if I went in a car and came back another way.

“The hope is that the owner is happy to find his car - it’s not an old car, it looks quite new.”

The AC Milan fan who has been trying to track down the owner added: “It’s in a white parking space - you can stay there at least a year, I think. You can park then and nothing will happen. This means if the owner is found within one year, there will be no parking fines to be paid.
