Fast & Furious Director Justin Lin To Direct Hot Wheels Movie

The Director, Justin Lin, who was part of the success of the 'Fast and Furious franchise has secured a deal to direct Legendary’s “Hot Wheels” based on the car toyline from Mattel.
The director helped reboot the “The Fast and the Furious” franchise, beginning with “Tokyo Drift.” and ending with “Fast & Furious 6”. Following the success of those films, Lin went to produce and direct “Star Trek Beyond,” which has gone on to gross almost $336.5 million worldwide.
Variety says Plot details are unknown at this time. Since the film still needs to find a writer and it’s also not expected to be Lin’s next project.
Legendary’s Alex Garcia will oversee the movie for the company, while Universal will distribute the pic.
Hot Wheels is one of the world’s biggest toy brands, with Mattel claiming that it’s the best-selling toy in the world, with more than 5 billion tiny cars produced since 1968. According to Mattel, the company creates nine million cars every week and sells 10 every second.
