Handcuffed Suspect Steals And Drives Away Police Car

A male suspect thought he could play Houdini by stealing a police car and dashing away with it while handcuffed in the back seat, in Indiana. Police said the 28-year-old Cody Tryon of Terre Haute was seated in back seat, and while unattended, somehow kicked out dividing screen, slid through opening and drove away with Terre Haute police car but didn't make it to far before the police using GPS caught up with him elsewhere in Terre Haute.

They said Tryon rammed several squad cars that tried to block the stolen vehicle before he was again taken into custody. Police said his hands were still restrained behind his back.

Tryon was taken to Vigo County jail and booked on charges including motor vehicle theft, criminal recklessness, felony resisting law enforcement, battery on a law enforcement officer, theft, possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, criminal mischief, possession of paraphernalia, and on the outstanding robbery warrant.
