Another Ground Breaking Record For Toyota

Toyota maybe regarded as a boring car by many car enthusiasts but this "boring" automaker keeps getting the automotive world buzzing about them. More recently, Toyota has set a new world record after a South Africa Journalist, Jesse Adams used a re-designed Toyota 86 to drift for an astounding 168. 50 kilometers (104 miles).
The Toyota 86 was given a lighter structure with an extra fuel tank added for the record to be acheived. Jesse Adams spun over 1000 times with an average speed of 29 km/h (18.02mph) for almost six hours as Toyota said that the rules for the record was that the wheels were not allowed to stop spinning at any time during the run and a change of direction was permitted, as long as the wheels stayed in motion.
The results were officially verified by two independent GPS-based data recorders that were implanted in the car. The 6 hour drifting record has been sent to Guinness World Records for official verification.
This is not the first time Toyota has proved its drifting abilities many times before. In 2014, German Haral Muller set the world record in Turkey by drifting sideways continuously for 89.55 miles (144.126km).
